The patented formula of Viartril®-S has a high bioavailability.2,5 It is 3 times more easily absorbed compared with ordinary glucosamine and can stay inside the body longer than glucosamine hydrochloride. 2,5*1,500mg of crystalline glucosamine sulphate in Viartril®-S offers a mean peak plasma concentration of 8.9µM and has a half-life of 15 hours† while 1,500mg of glucosamine hydrochloride only has a mean peak plasma concentration of 2.7µM with a half-life of 2.5 hours.2
